A searing, timely portrait of resistance, the film explores the ways America has ignored its debt to indigenous communities, and ponders what might be done today to repair the wrongs of the past.
Jesse Short Bull is a member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe in the state of South Dakota. Short Bull’s filmmaking features stories from the Oglala Lakota Nation. His short film Istinma won several awards and was screened at dozens of film festivals across the country.
Laura Tomaselli is a director and editor living in New York. Her previous films include MLK/FBI(2020) and Deja View (2013).
