Want to host your premiere event at aperture? Whether it’s a film you’ve made and want to premiere or a film you’d like to sponsor, let’s work together to bring your screening to life! Filmmakers enjoy the ease of a studio designated just for you. We can offer to handle ticketing for an additional charge.

Professional organizations can enjoy sponsoring a film, film series, or hosting a great team building scenario.

Rules & How to Book:

1. Please list requested dates and start times for your event and if you would like to host a talkback. Other non-profit or community organization rental rates are flexible but not guaranteed.

2. Please give a list of dates and start times. We will accept dates 3 weeks out from whenever you are reading this sentence.

• If accepted late, a booking fee of $75 per week applies for independent filmmaker and organization rentals confirmed less than 3 weeks in advance. No bookings will be made with less than 15 days notice.

3. Ticketing and Marketing: We will ticket and market your event for an additional $50. Marketing includes promotion in our newsletter, social media (instagram and Facebook), and on our “Coming soon” and “Now Showing” websites.

• You’ll be responsible for checking in guests if you don’t include ticketing and marketing for your event. Please double check theater capacity and attendance. Aperture reserves the right to turn people away or fine rentals an additional $50 for potentially violating fire safety codes. Eventbrite or another third party service is recommended if you choose to handle ticketing by yourself. 

4. Pricing is based on the specific studio at booking confirmation. No additional guests will be allowed above studio capacity.

5. No outside food or drink. Please enjoy your favorite concessions from our full menu, it is possible to run a credit card tab during the event. Our rental rates are low so please consider supporting us with concessions to create the most cinematic experience for your guests.

6. We only offer film/movie rentals. Traditional theater performances, comedy/stand-up performances, music performances, etc., are not permitted. We encourage you to reach out to local theater, music, event spaces for booking.

7. Filmmakers only… 

• We require a mp4 file delivered electronically or a DCP file delivered via electronic transfer + a mp4 file backup. If you would like come for a screen test in person, we do these on the Thursday morning prior to your event at 11am (for an additional fee of $75). If we have not received your movie/film file a week before your rental date, an additional $50 fee will be accrued. Failure to pay the fee 2 days before your rental will result in your rental time and event being forfeited without a refund. 
• We can render additional DCPs for $75.

Want to share a film with our community?

If you are an individual, business, or nonprofit who would like to sponsor a screening of a favorite film to be available to the public at a/perture, we will gladly work with you! These single-date sponsorships range from approximately $250-$1,500 per screening.

If a/perture schedules the film as a ticketed showing, a sponsor would cover the cost of the distribution rights, usually ranging from $250-$500 per screening. If the sponsor wishes the screening to be open free to the public in our theater, or scheduled outdoors using our a/mobile screen, additional overhead charges apply. Please be aware that chosen films must be consistent with a/perture’s mission and must not conflict with existing film distribution agreements, so not all requests can be accommodated.

As an individual sponsor, you and a guest would be welcome to attend the screening with complimentary tickets and would be credited by name in at least two weekly eblasts; one social media post/tag; and onscreen during the event.
