An introduction to the art of cinema for Elementary schoolers!
Rising Grades 3-5
Over five days, campers will take an engaging look at the art of movies. Starting with a modern release, campers will work backwards through film history, and complete activities based on the films shown. The cirriculum is designed by a/perture’s curator and programming director, Jake Laystrom, and instructed by a/perture team member and local elementary-school teacher Erin Eftink. From modern ground-breaking animation to the silent art of Buster Keaton, get your budding cinephiles started on their explorations of the wonderful world of cinema!
By exploring the basics of film history, campers will develop an understanding of movies, and continue to develop their taste and engagement. With a strong foundation here, campers will have a head start in their future careers as filmmakers, critics, programmers, and most importantly, movie lovers.
