About a/perture cinema

a/perture cinema is a nonprofit arts organization located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of our community through film exhibition, education, and engagement.

Ticket Purchases, Memberships, and Donations

Unless otherwise stated, donations are nonrefundable. Membership benefits, terms, and expiration dates are governed by the membership program in effect at the time of purchase.

Programming, event schedules, guest appearances, and screening times may change without notice.

Refunds and Exchanges

Refund and exchange requests are subject to a/perture cinema’s current ticketing policies.

The cinema reserves the right to cancel or modify programming due to circumstances beyond its control, including weather, technical issues, public safety concerns, or presenter availability.

Patron Conduct

a/perture cinema strives to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all patrons, staff, volunteers, filmmakers, speakers, and community members.

All visitors are expected to comply with the a/perture cinema Code of Conduct, available at:

The Code of Conduct is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference and is considered part of this agreement.

Patrons who violate the Code of Conduct may be denied admission, removed from the premises without refund, suspended from future attendance, or permanently banned from the cinema.

Photography and Recording

From time to time, a/perture cinema may photograph, film, livestream, or otherwise record certain screenings, special events, educational programs, discussions, receptions, fundraisers, and other public activities for promotional, educational, archival, or fundraising purposes.

When an event is being recorded by a/perture cinema, notice will be provided through posted signage at the venue and, when practicable, through event communications.

By attending an event where such notice has been provided, you acknowledge that your image, likeness, voice, or participation may be incidentally captured in photographs, video recordings, livestreams, or other media created by a/perture cinema. These materials may be used by a/perture cinema in print publications, newsletters, annual reports, grant applications, social media, websites, promotional materials, press coverage, and other mission-related communications without compensation.

a/perture cinema will make reasonable efforts to be respectful of patrons’ privacy and will not intentionally identify individuals by name without their permission except where otherwise authorized or required by law.

Patrons who have questions or concerns regarding photography or recording at a specific event are encouraged to speak with a staff member upon arrival.

Safety and Security

For the safety of patrons, staff, and volunteers, a/perture cinema reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person whose conduct is disruptive, threatening, unlawful, intoxicated, or otherwise interferes with the enjoyment or safety of others.

The cinema also reserves the right to inspect bags or refuse entry to prohibited items as outlined in the Code of Conduct.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including logos, graphics, photographs, text, designs, videos, and other materials, is the property of a/perture cinema or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
